Let’s be real – health and wellness, or even the term “holistic”, can get downright confusing. We hear about so many ways to heal, so many new things to try, so many experts or gurus to follow, and are given an unlimited number of healing modalities or ways to approach our wellness.
What do you do when faced with a sea of choices? How do you know where to start?
We want to simplify this for you here at S.A.G.E. because we wholeheartedly believe that your healing is truly about these four holistic pillars:
Nutrition
Body Movement
Mental Health
Spirituality
Nutrition. Science continues to demonstrate the powerful connection with the type of foods that we eat and how this impacts our health. There is not one way to eat that works for everyone. That’s why we believe in a bio-individual approach to the fuel we put into our bodies. Food can be a tricky thing with so many surrounding psychological factors! Our nutrition is the most repeated influence in our daily lives and yet sometimes, we are just not tuned into how powerful this fuel is for our physical well being. Â
How we fuel our body matters.
Body Movement. Body movement is what keeps our physical being in flow. Our body needs movement to function optimally because movement literally moves the waste that our bodies don’t need out. If we aren’t moving our bodies regularly, it’s like never taking the trash out, causing us to live in a toxic internal environment. When we consistently give ourselves body movement, our circulation, hormones, toxins, nutrients, etc. are able to get to work for us in the most efficient way. Small successes and consistency are where it’s at.
How we move our body matters.
Mental Health. Mental health is our emotional, psychological and social well being. We need to take care of our mind as it is the central system in charge. The way we perceive stressors, the way we connect with others, the ability to motivate ourselves toward our goals, our emotional world…it’s all deeply impacted by how well we are caring for our mental health.
How we use our mind matters.
Spirituality. Deepening and softening into that ever-so-subtle internal guiding system will open up doors and bring your world into full color. Your spiritual practice taps you into your unique healing journey. We believe that each person has their own internal guidance and that there is great wisdom in you. This inner knowing, or intuition, is what will take you exactly where you need to go on your healing journey – your job is to create space for that to happen and tune in.
How we get Still and tune in matters.
Throughout all of this…being connected with people who care about you and whom you care about is the fabric that holds it all together. Isolation and loneliness hugely contribute to unhappiness overall; connection soothes our troubles and holds space for us to walk through life.
At S.A.G.E., we understand it can be hard to reach out and connect. We work hard to create an environment that is open, accepting and inclusive of all people from all walks of life and we created S.A.G.E. so you have the freedom to explore your own health and wellness according to YOU.
