How long do we wait to do the things we know will absolutely revolutionize our own lives?
Really think about it.
If you are one of those individuals who can decide to make a change, and instantly sit up and get it done- our hats are off to you. That takes serious discipline and motivation to get right to it.
However, the human condition is that of procrastination. It is that of a realization, an inspiration- followed by an unbelievably long period of hesitation, of “I will get to it, I will get to it”..
Sometimes it is the hustle of living that just carries us away, from doing the things that actually make us feel ALIVE.
It is the job, the kids, the dating, the commitments… The list can go on and on.
The late Dr. Wayne Dyer has beautiful musings on “don’t die with music still in you” where he urges us to each get to singing the songs that live within us all. To not go to the end with the ideas of what can bring us to a place of wellness and peace not brought into our reality.
Yet, it is usually only deep, jarring pain that can launch us into taking action. It is not the promise of better living, it is the searing cut of depression and anxiety that can finally get us to reach for the things we knew we needed all along: exercise, time with a therapist, spiritual practices- a night out with our loved ones.
This is why the beauty of Spring is so magnificent.
It is Earth calling us to blossom. Spring is a physical reminder that NOW is the time to open up, soak in life- and start to grow again. It is Gaia saying to us all “Do not wait to hurt. Winter, the time of quiet reflection, has passed. The sun is going to shine outside, and it is time for you to feel that warmth inside as well”.
Let’s all answer that call to step into this time of new life, new beginnings, and delicious reinvention.
