I believe that people have the ability to find solutions to work through their struggles when they are afforded a compassionate and non-judgmental environment in which they can openly explore aspects of their lives. I also believe that when people feel a sense of acceptance for who they are and what they are going through, they can find a path to self-acceptance and discover ways to move beyond simply surviving and begin thriving. My approach involves empathic listening and holding a genuine curiosity to deeply understand the interconnectedness between a person’s feelings, thoughts, struggles, values, and life satisfaction.
I entered into the field of counseling because I recognized there were not very many spaces in which people were able to openly and authentically discuss their struggles outside of therapy. I want to be able to provide a space for people to be vulnerable while affirming their courage to do so. Personally, I experienced a profound benefit during the subsequent years following a car wreck that left me totally blind, which is part of what motivates me to do this work. The interpersonal nature of counseling facilitates human connection and that is something I aim to provide to those I work with. I do not direct my clients, rather I walk alongside my clients as we explore various aspects of their lives together. I do not assume to be an expert on the lives of my clients since I believe they are the experts of their own lives. I believe hope is essential for healing to take place, and sometimes it can take time and the optimal environment to find hope.
The general tone throughout therapy with me will consist of warmth and kindness. Clients can expect me to hold a non-judgmental stance while engaging in an authentic dialog, which may include asking pointed questions aimed at deepening the focus of sessions. A person can also anticipate the exploration of their values being part of working with me since this will help with the development of their treatment goals. Clients can expect the potential discussion of earlier life experiences and how those may be influencing their current circumstances. Also, I will provide a space for discussing cultural factors by broaching these topics but not overly emphasize factors clients believe to be irrelevant to their current struggles. Lastly, the therapeutic process will examine what helps someone feel a sense of belonging, purpose, and meaning in their life.

Answers to Common Questions About Our Services
Absolutely. You don’t need to hit rock bottom to benefit from support. Many of our clients come in feeling “stuck,” overwhelmed, or just wanting a safe space to process life. If you’re curious — that’s enough.
We combine evidence-based therapy with holistic support like Reiki, spiritual care, and community education. As a nonprofit, we focus on healing — not hustling. You’re not just a number here.
Our holistic therapists are trained to hold space for you no matter where you fall on the spectrum of religion or spirituality – or absence of it. We have worked with a large number of folx who are recovering from spiritual abuse, religious trauma or who are having a faith crisis, but that doesn’t mean we have to even talk about spirituality/religion at all during your therapy sessions. If it’s important to you, we create the space for you to explore it in our work together.
It means we treat you as a whole person — not just a diagnosis. We look at mental health, emotional wellbeing, nervous system support, and a variety of other holistic approaches including consulting with your other holistic professional team members if you desire.
We currently accept insurance from:

Anthem Blue Cross
