Reiki is a form of “energetic” healing that works harmoniously with all other forms of treatment (e.g. medical\, psychological\, alternative\, etc.). Many philosophical/religious systems and even some branches of science now understand that there is an unseen energy that flows through all living things. This energy is believed to be around us all the time and is believed to be what creates and sustains life. The word Reiki is composed of two different Japanese words: “rei” is generally translated as “universal”\, “God”\, “soul”\, or “spiritual” and the word “ki” is translated as “energy” or “life force”. Therefore\, Reiki represents the “life force energy” and the source of that energy is spiritual. How does Reiki work? It is a simple and powerful healing technique that works to balance out the energy system of the body which often leads to improvements in health\, increased relaxation and improved wellbeing. If someone’s “life force energy” is low or blocked\, then they are more likely to become ill. If it is high and flowing smoothly through the body (i.e.\, through the meridians)\, then the person is more resilient to disease and is happier. The goal of balancing the person’s energy is similar to that of acupuncturists or acupressurists\, however\, with Reiki\, the Practitioner does not necessarily need to touch the body…it can be done either “hands on” or “hands off”. DESCRIPTION:Have you ever heard of a sage smudge\, chakras or Reiki? We have combined these 3 powerful tools together in this ever-popular and mind-changing event on the last Sunday of each month as a way to step into that new month ahead with stillness and centered focus on your side. \nWe invite you to join Emily Celis\, Founder\, LMFT + Reiki Master|Teacher for a 7-month in depth study and Reiki healing experience of the 7 major chakras.  \nSunday\, May 29th\, from 6:30-8:00pm\, we will study the Throat Chakra. You will be guided through a teaching portion\, chakra meditation and group Reiki healing session with a crystal singing bowl tuned to that chakra for even deeper relaxation and healing energy.  \nWhat is the throat chakra all about? \nOur throat chakra is the 5th chakra and is located in the center of our throat/neck area. It can be represented with the color blue and is connected to speaking our truth\, communicating that truth whether being honest to ourselves or others and being open to hearing truth\, as well as surrendering our will to the will of spirit/God/universe. \nThis class will bring focus to this energy center and we will do the work to bring more balance to this chakra and release anything that is no longer serving you. \nThis class is for you if you are ready to more fully understand yourself\, step into more self love\, care and healing\, uplevel your life\, heal and step into that best version of you. \nSeating will be limited so there will be enough space for us to spread out and sit in circle with each other; you are welcome to bring a yoga mat or blanket to get comfortable.
